WiB: 2007

In the summer of 2007, I decided to blog once a week about the books I was reading.  Having just finished a semester, I went a little crazy with the reading, but I’m known to do that.  In fact, it’s expected of me, really.  Here are links to the old WiB entries with a brief overview of what’s covered in each.

5/11/2007: My first Scarlett Thomas, some Anne Tyler, a rereading of The Handmaid’s Tale, Amanda Quick, the first Anybodies book, and post-Brubaker Catwoman.

5/18/2007: Emma Frost backstory, Robin OYL, Countdown began, Sheri Tepper, more Scarlett Thomas, the second N.E. Bode book, James Robinson’s Chance, my first Picoult, and a Harlequin.

5/25/2007: The third N.E. Bode book, some comics, another Harlequin, Heather Graham, TMNT source material, my hatred of Nora Roberts (vs my love of J.D. Robb).

6/1/2007: Alice Hoffman is always awesome (x2), Christopher Moore (x2), Son of Rosemary, Jane Austen, Alias: The (Incredibly Awesome) Comic Book That’s Not About the TV Show.

6/8/2007: Chuck Austen lets me down, Christopher Moore (and a crappy cover) lets me down, Alias sequel The Pulse (PG-13 rather than R), more Picoult, more Countdown, more bad marketing and teen drama with Freshman Holiday, and Scarlett Thomas’s not-hip Lily Pascale.

6/15/2007: The other two Lily Pascale books, M.E. Kerr (who isn’t afraid of anything), Wicked, handful of free manga, including yaoi and CLAMP.

6/24/2007: A heck of a lot more manga, a superhero romance novel, a Harlequin, more Picoult, a less-famous un-sci-fi Marge Piercy book, and a reread of World According to Garp.

7/4/2007: Hilary Mantel, my beloved Jennifer Crusie, the pitiable Lori Foster, and the entire Starman series, because it was awesome.  Oh, and also I kept falling asleep while trying to get through early Silver Surfer.

7/11/2007: Jude Deveraux, a dropped Acker, Fannie Flagg, Eileen Dreyer, Georgette Heyer.

7/13/2007: Dean Koontz stands the test of time and memory, Penny & Aggie, and MJ.

7/28/2007: Holmes, Power Pack, and Elizabeth Lowell.

And, when school began again, I went to a sort of “Month in Books” format that I had to drop because I was so darn busy:

9/4/2007: July and August (I was on vacation a lot, with limited computer access), including tons of comics, the last Harry Potter, more Kerr, more Heyer, more Atwood, more chick lit, a superhero novel, another Jennifer Crusie (with “Tiger Beat” Bob Mayer), and Foxtrot.

12/21/2007: I was trying!  I cover the entirety of September here.

12/31/2007: October.  Then I hit my last semester of undergrad and barely had time to hang out with my own child, let alone blog about books.
